What is Abundance
by Kay Hare
I have been thinking about this word for a while now, and this means years. Firstly, I use to associate abundance with finances, having a good job and money coming in regularly. However, as my understanding of the world in general grows and my awareness of life outside the normal job and corporate world expands I realise abundance means much more. Abundance can mean a constant flowing of money when it is needed it does have to mean one pot of money it also relates beautifully to nature. Nature is abundant, with trees and flowers being an example of abundance. Nature relies on and trusts the journey, not clinging to things or situations. I sometimes feel that we have lost the spirit of ‘going with the flow’ and feel afraid to let go and trust that we will be provided for. Society encourages so many insurances and saving for the future schemes that can make us fearful of the future and hence not allowing us to live happily in the present moment. Abraham Hicks who is a motivational teacher reminds us that to be happy we must be happy now, not when we get the retirement of the new house. The dictionary describes the word abundance “from Old French abondance and directly from Latin abundantia “fullness, plenty,” noun of state from abundantem (nominative abundans), present participle of abundare “to overflow”.”
I wrote a book about the power of positive words and I have been amazed at how his book has navigated me to new areas of life and communities that I never knew existed. Firstly I am now using essential oils in my everyday life. I was introduced to the oils by a friend who 12 months ago suggested I could use them in my paintings. I heard her say this but took no notice until now. A few months ago I bought the starter pack and started oiling. I diffuse my favourite oil in the mornings and this can change each as there are over 100 oils to choose from. One of my favourite oils is ‘Abundance’. This is a beautiful blending Citrus, orange peel, Frankincense, Patchouli, Clove, Ginger, Myrrh, Cinnamon and Black spruce leaf oil. I love this smell and really does create a rich landscape.
Young living describes it as :” Abundance was created to enhance the frequency of the harmonic magnetic energy field that surrounds us. This manifesting and powerful blend creates what is called “the law of attraction,” which refers to the positive (or negative) energy we attract to ourselves by focusing on it. Abundance, therefore, opens us to a wealth of possibilities. Its spicy scent is popular among both women and men – try using it as a perfume or cologne and experience your energy shifting towards prosperity and plentitude!” Young Living.
As my paintings are all based on positive words I have found this range of oils that also are named with these words that I have been drawing for the last four years, for example, I have a drawing called, Joy, see the illustration. Young living also has a oil called Joy. My drawings coincidently are linked to the oils and it is amazing I have found this community.
Therefore it makes sense to start the first painting off called Abundance.
